Simon Maze Oleyo Konyi

Age 30

As a student from greater Pibor Administrative area the major reason that let me to apply this scholarship at the moment is because of terrible challenge of tuition fees. literally, its in the hands of God and your administrative team of PASS to decide whether you could render me assistant. i believe the purpose of this scholarship is to serve those who are in the needs of assistant. I might not be meeting the location criteria for the scholarship but i believe if you would able to sympathize with my situation I'm in now, i would be so much grateful.

**********ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I'm very glad to receive the second feedback, the reason why I wrote a few statements in the previous application is because I was following the instructions in the first phase of writing 100 words in the application. That's why I wasn't able to elaborate more details about my education journey. My parents are illiterate, and in my family I'm the only one who has reached university level, and I struggle a lot to be where I am today because of the passion and love that I have toward my future. It wouldn't be easy for me to bear hardship at school from the beginning up to date. However, I hope one day I will be a great person in my community and also in my family. I'm single and I have a dream that I need to attain in the near future since my parents were all illiterate. I don't want to be like them. That's why I decided to work hard at school to get good grades for my own good. The reason why I decided to continue with my further studies in Uganda is because of the fixed system which would allow me to come and pursue my education within the timeframe given at the University. My education background of primary and high school is completed within the country South Sudan Juba. I have a challenge of completing the remaining semesters and i don't have anyone to reach out to help me to complete the remaining semesters. It's a great opportunity for me to apply for the pass scholarship since the selection criteria was based on the tribe I belong to (Murle community) in the GPAA.

The reason why I need assistance from the pass scholarship is to complete the remaining semesters since I'm not able to pay the remaining semester due to lack of the support from my family members back home (PIBOR). The little budget that I brought was finished. I paid for four semesters 2022-2023 and that's the main reason why I pleaded for assistance from your esteemed office for the remaining semesters. I did foundation for one year and I was enrolled for a bachelor degree program for three years and I'm almost in the midst of completing what I dream for in my career path.

I believe after graduating from University I will not be the same as before. I have learned a lot during my tenure in the college and I would love to apply the skills, and knowledge that I acquire to make use of it appropriately to my suffering community back home in terms of service delivery, and formulating policies to guide youths and the entire community. My main focus after graduating from the field of my career is to make sure that I will use the knowledge in a deliberate manner to support the government and other stakeholders to achieve the ultimate goal for the betterment of the Murle community in a greater Pibor Administrative Area.

With the brief highlights I hope education is the key to eradicate the poor community from the darkness to light if the opportunity is granted for me to accomplish my dreams within the given period at University. hoping to hear more from your office.

Kind regards,
Simon Maze Oleyo
Murle student at University
